COUNCIL MEETING SUMMARY
(May 5, 2003)

Proclamations - The Mayor declared the week of May 11-17, 2003 as Healthcare Week

Presentation - by Justin Crum regarding an Eagle Scout Project.  City Manager Davidson explained that this project proposes replacing the concrete at the tennis courts/skate park with new cement.

Approval - of Resolution 2003-16 , to amend Resolution 2003-13 , issue street and highway revenue bonds. This transaction has the affect of re-financing the existing revenue bonds to capture a lower interest rate. The term of the new bonds will be the same as the existing bonds - 2010.

Approval - of an Intergovernmental agreement establishing the Cochise County Economic Development Steering Committee 

City Manager's Report

• Mayors/Managers meeting - Wednesday, May 7, 2003 in Tombstone

• the Mayors/Managers meeting in June will be hosted by Willcox

• The departmental budget work session will be held on Monday, May 12, 2003 at 5:00 p.m.

• Update on street projects - Airport Road and West half of Grant Street have been done.

• Economic Development Forum proposal - to establish a web site for economic development topics.

• July 4th celebration - might be a modified event similar to last year's 9-11 observance.
